GMR Fantom 4 & 6

Garmin’s new GMR Fantom solid-state pulse compression radar series with MotionScope™ Doppler technology has 40W of power, the highest in the industry for its kind.

Available in a 4 or 6 foot open array, the Fantom series MotionScope™ technology uses the Doppler effect to create a display, automatically “Painting” dangerous moving targets red, safe moving targets in green thereby giving unrivalled levels of situational awareness to help users avoid potential collisions.

With pulse compression technology, it provides high resolution while maximising energy on targets to enhance detection and identification of targets. It uses pulse expansion to maximise target size to help differentiate real targets from noise.

Featuring a unique design that’s smaller and lighter than previous open-array radar models, the new Fantom radars deliver high sensitivity for both close and long range without any compromise in ruggedness or reliability. As no warm-up time is needed, mariners can start tracking targets instantly.

GMR Fantom 18 & 24 dome radars

These 40 W solid-state dome radars with MotionScope™ technology use the Doppler effect to detect and highlight targets in different colours as they move towards or away from you, helping you avoid potential collisions. It features low power consumption, instant power on and no warm up delay, with excellent close and long-range detection from 20 feet to 48 nautical miles.

GPSMAP 8400 series

The GPSMAP 8400 series is the powerful new all-in-one multi-function displays (MFDs) that offer mariners the highest screen resolution on the market.

These large-format MFDs provide a sleek glass-helm look and are available in 17, 22 and 24-inch displays, featuring full HD in-plane switching (IPS) screens with multi-touch control. Boasting new and improved processors, the GPSMAP 8400 series provides increased performance, enhanced video processing, and the fastest chart drawing offered to date in a Garmin MFD.

GPSMAP 7400 series

The GPSMAP 7400 units, which now include a built-in J1939 connector, offering a dedicated CAN port for directly receiving compatible engine data to create a fully-integrated and completely networked helm, are available in sonar and non-sonar versions and feature CHIRP DownVü and SideVü. For those who prefer a keypad interface, the all-in-one solutions offered by the new 10-inch GPSMAP® 1022xsv and the 12-inch GPSMAP® 1222xsv cannot be overlooked. With an all-new industrial design, these combos feature a large, sunlight-readable screen, coupled with a keypad interface and new multifunction rotary control knob that offers precise, simple control for easy menu navigation and setting control, even in rough water. Panoptix™ PS51-TH

The Panoptix™ multibeam thru-hull transducer with premium FrontVü forward-looking sonar helps you avoid running aground¹ by displaying the bottom ahead of your boat in real time. Designed to give mariners more confidence and peace of mind when navigating unfamiliar water, Panoptix™ FrontVü is a narrow beam, forward-looking sonar that focuses on the bottom in front of the boat, rather than the sides. The Panoptix™ PS51-TH transducer is compatible with the 7- and 9-inch echoMAP™ CHIRP chartplotter/sonar combos, the new GPSMAP® 722/922 and 1022/1222 series, and the GPSMAP® 8400/8600, 7400/7600, 7x1/820/1020 series.

inReach SE+ and inReach Explorer+

The inReach SE+ and inReach Explorer+ are the first Garmin devices with inReach satellite communication technology. Garmin adds 4 anglers to its 2017 Fishing Team

The U.K. and Ireland Garmin fishing team includes: David Morris (U.K.), Terry Wright (U.K.), Austen Goldsmith (U.K.) and Eddie Butler (Ireland).

The 2017 fishing team will use Garmin electronics on their boats and kayaks during training and tournaments and will be equipped with detailed charts and best-in-class electronics and technology, including the GPSMAP® 7410xsv J1939 and GPSMAP® 1022xsv series chartplotters ranging in size from seven - to twelve -inches.

They will also be equipped with the Garmin Panoptix™ PS-30 & PS-31 all-seeing sonar. Garmin was the first to give anglers the ability to see all around their boat in real time by bringing Panoptix™ sonar imaging to the water. They will also be able to instantly create their personalised HD maps with 1-foot contours with the free and easy to use Quickdraw™ Contours and share it with the Quickdraw Community on Garmin Connect™.

Additionally, David, Terry, Austen and Eddie will be able to record and replay their fishing training and events via their Garmin VIRB® Ultra 30 and VIRB® XE. (NASDAQ:GRMN), today announced the quatix 5, its next-generation marine GPS smartwatch that’s specifically designed for life on the water. More than a watch, the quatix 5 provides comprehensive boat connectivity with compatible Garmin chartplotters and other marine electronics to offer autopilot control, remote multifunction display (MFD) waypoint marking, data streaming – including speed, depth, temperature and wind – sail racing assistance, and much more. In addition to preloaded marine-specific feature sets, the quatix 5 also includes a host of built-in activity profiles for land and water sports like running, hiking, biking, swimming, rowing, and paddle boarding to name a few.

New quatix^® 5 marine GPS smartwatch series

With an extended battery life, daily activity tracking¹, smart notifications², and Garmin Elevate™ wrist heart rate technology, the quatix 5 can be worn 24/7 and easily transitions from water to land. Built to withstand the harsh marine environment, the quatix 5 measures at 47mm and features a rugged yet sleek design with a stainless steel bezel, buttons and rear case that’s more compact than previous models. Thanks to the new QuickFit™ bands available in metal, leather or silicone, users can interchange their watchband in seconds and without tools.

When paired with on-board Garmin electronics, the quatix 5 can stream NMEA® 2000 boat data to give users access to important sensor information like speed, depth, temperature, wind data and more – right from their wrist, no matter where they’re at on the boat. What’s more, when the quatix 5 is paired with a GHC 20 autopilot control unit, it can be used to control the autopilot to change heading, engage heading hold, steer to an active GPS route, and initiate patterns so that users can maintain control of the vessel, even if they’re not the one at the helm.³

The quatix 5 also makes it easier than ever to mark and save a waypoint from anywhere on the boat – with the touch of a button, the quatix 5 can be used to remotely mark a waypoint on a connected chartplotter(s). And, users can also use the quatix 5 to control their on-board entertainment system thanks to the built-in FUSION-Link™ Lite app that controls connected StereoActive™ products as well as other ANT-enabled stereo models.

Specifically designed for the water, the quatix 5 gives mariners up-to-date tide data downloaded for the area they’re in through a smartphone, and will have access to that data for seven days. And for sail racing, the quatix 5 features tack assist, race countdown timer, distance to start line, and time to burn.

Water rated to 100 meters⁴, the quatix 5 is built to withstand the elements and features a sunlight-readable colour display with a LED backlight so data is easily visible in any light. With an omni-directional stainless steel EXO™ antenna and high-sensitivity GPS with GLONASS support, it has the ability to track in more challenging environments than GPS alone. The quatix 5 boasts up to 24 hours of battery life in GPS mode, 60 hours in UltraTrac^TM mode and two weeks in smartwatch mode (depending on settings).

In addition to the marine and multiport features, the quatix 5 can be worn for daily activity tracking so users can wear their quatix as a daily timepiece. It boasts a variety of connected features and when paired with a compatible smartphone, users can get call, text and email smart notifications right on their wrist. Yamaha selects Garmin for new integrated marine display

(NASDAQ:GRMN), today announced that Yamaha Marine Group has selected the Garmin 7-inch GPSMAP^® multi-function display (MFD) platform to power its new CL7^TM multi-touch display. As the primary display for Command Link Plus^® and Helm Master^®, Yamaha’s fully integrated boat control system, the CL7 is fully network capable for NMEA 2000^® and the Garmin Marine Network. Full-network compatibility allows the user to add multiple Garmin screens, sensors, sonar, weather, radar, autopilot, Fusion Link, IP cameras and more with full system integration and sharing across the entire system. The CL7 will be standard for Helm Master and will be the premium display for all Command Link Plus outboard engines starting in May 2017.

The legend is back: Garmin updates the GPSMAP 276Cx, a versatile all-terrain GPS navigator

Garmin announces the GPSMAP 276Cx, an upgraded reinvention of the classic 276C. Since its launch in 2004, the 276C has proven in countless deployments all around the world to be Garmin’s most versatile all-terrain GPS navigator, ready for land and sea. The 276Cx provides the well tested classic functionality of the original, with all the latest technological improvements of the last decade in a device truly as unique as the customer who desires such performance. The 276Cx now features both GPS and GLONASS for better performance in heavy cover, optional external antenna support (sold separately), HotFix for faster satellite acquisition and other wireless connectivity features. For improved operation in demanding environments, there’s now a larger sunlight-readable 5-inch display as well as a barometric altimeter and 3-axis compass, which were not present in the 276C.

For enhanced navigation convenience it also features turn-by-turn and Curvy Routes routing with text-to-speech voice guidance on City Navigator® and routable Topo Maps. Using Wi-Fi® or when paired via Bluetooth to the Garmin Connect™ mobile app on supported devices, the 276Cx delivers Active Weather forecasts and animated weather tracking on the map page so users can always be aware of the current weather conditions. Garmin, global leader of satellite navigation, has announced its support as a key sponsor for ‘One Wild Ride’, one man’s attempt to single-handedly sail a 13-foot dinghy around the entire coastline of Ireland for charity.

In May 2016, Gary ‘Ted’ Sargent, a sailor from Dublin, will set off from Schull, Co. Cork, and start his solo 1500K journey around Ireland to raise money for ChildVision, a national charity dedicated to the support of blind and multi-disabled children. It is expected to take him between 25 and 40 days.

Guiding Sargent throughout his journey will be the rugged Garmin GPSMAP® 78s, a highly sensitive handheld GPS receiver that features crisp colour mapping from its bright 2.6" LCD colour display, 3-axis compass, barometric altimeter, new moulded rubber side grips, plus a microSD™ card slot for loading additional maps. It also features a special MOB (man overboard) button and floats.

To document his journey, Sargent will be using the Garmin VIRB^®XE action camera, that not only gives him the ability to capture high definition footage, but also measures and displays water depth, wind speed, and boat speed.

Garmin, global leader of satellite navigation, today announced it has been selected as a Technical Supplier of Artemis Racing, one of the six professional sailing teams competing for the coveted 35^th America’s Cup. Artemis Racing will use Garmin marine electronics on its fleet of support boats on the water and, off the water, team members will rely on Garmin bike computers, running watches, and heart rate monitors for physical training. The 35^th America’s Cup will be determined on the Great Sound in Bermuda in 2017, and the preparations for the event are at full intensity.

The new BlueChart g2 HD and BlueChart g2 Vision^® HD offerings will be available on accessory cards and downloads for coverage offered worldwide. The enhancements include the introduction of the Garmin exclusive Auto Guidance 3.0¹, as well as the addition of up to one foot HD fishing contours that provide even greater detail for bottom contours including ledges, canyons and drop offs.
