GMR Fantom 4 & 6

Garmin’s new GMR Fantom solid-state pulse compression radar series with MotionScope™ Doppler technology has 40W of power, the highest in the industry for its kind.

Available in a 4 or 6 foot open array, the Fantom series MotionScope™ technology uses the Doppler effect to create a display, automatically “Painting” dangerous moving targets red, safe moving targets in green thereby giving unrivalled levels of situational awareness to help users avoid potential collisions.

With pulse compression technology, it provides high resolution while maximising energy on targets to enhance detection and identification of targets. It uses pulse expansion to maximise target size to help differentiate real targets from noise.

GPSMAP 8400 series

The GPSMAP 8400 series is the powerful new all-in-one multi-function displays (MFDs) that offer mariners the highest screen resolution on the market.

These large-format MFDs provide a sleek glass-helm look and are available in 17, 22 and 24-inch displays, featuring full HD in-plane switching (IPS) screens with multi-touch control. GPSMAP 7400 series

Garmin adds 4 anglers to its 2017 Fishing Team

The U.K. and Ireland Garmin fishing team includes: David Morris (U.K.), Terry Wright (U.K.), Austen Goldsmith (U.K.) and Eddie Butler (Ireland).

The 2017 fishing team will use Garmin electronics on their boats and kayaks during training and tournaments and will be equipped with detailed charts and best-in-class electronics and technology, including the GPSMAP® 7410xsv J1939 and GPSMAP® 1022xsv series chartplotters ranging in size from seven - to twelve -inches.

They will also be equipped with the Garmin Panoptix™ PS-30 & PS-31 all-seeing sonar. Garmin was the first to give anglers the ability to see all around their boat in real time by bringing Panoptix™ sonar imaging to the water. They will also be able to instantly create their personalised HD maps with 1-foot contours with the free and easy to use Quickdraw™ Contours and share it with the Quickdraw Community on Garmin Connect™.

Additionally, David, Terry, Austen and Eddie will be able to record and replay their fishing training and events via their Garmin VIRB® Ultra 30 and VIRB® XE. Garmin Dash Cam 65W arrives with a 180-degree field of view

Schaffhausen, May 10, 2017 – Garmin International Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd. (NASDAQ: GRMN), today announced the Dash Cam 65W, its newest dash cam model capable of capturing an exceptional 180-wide-angle field of view to expand the scope of its high-quality 1080p video recording capability. The increased field of view allows drivers to capture even more details from the vehicle’s surroundings such as traffic congestions, road construction and more. The Dash Cam 65W’s wide angle ultimately enhances the way video is captured, shared and viewed. Sleek and compact, the Dash Cam 65W boasts a number of established features found across the Garmin Dash Cam series, including voice control, advanced driver awareness features like red light and speed camera alerts¹, and forward collision and lane departure warnings² to encourage safer driving. A camera-assisted sensor known as the “Go” alert is also built into the Dash Cam 65W to notify drivers when traffic ahead of their vehicle begins to move.

As soon as the Dash Cam 65W is plugged in, the device automatically begins to record high quality eyewitness video footage in 1080p, or 720p with a 2.0-inch LCD display screen and a 2.1 megapixel camera. The automatic incident detection (G-sensor) allows the Dash Cam 65W to save footage on impact, while also adding GPS capabilities for detailed time and location data. The dash cam also offers a parking mode option (cable sold separately) that feeds constant power to the device when the vehicle is parked and turned off, and automatically begins recording surroundings when motion is detected.

The inclusion of voice control enables drivers to speak out commands to the new dash cam to start and stop audio recordings, take still pictures, and save videos. Customers can even speak out commands such as, “OK Garmin, start Travelapse™,” — a video capture feature that compresses hours of video footage into minutes of highlights. When drivers download the free VIRB^® mobile app to a compatible smartphone, drivers can use the Dash Cam 65W’s built-in Wi-Fi^® to wirelessly sync their recorded videos and automatically share them with friends, family or insurance agencies. Over the course of the next two days, developers will be briefed on the exciting new features being rolled out with the latest Connect IQ 2.3 and they’ll participate in hands-on workshops and breakout sessions with Garmin product managers and engineers. In conjunction with the Developer Summit, Garmin is also excited to announce an integration with the SmartThings home automation app – a free download from the Connect IQ store that allows users to control things in their home – lights, TVs, etc. – through their Garmin Connect IQ compatible device¹.

Connect IQ, an open developer platform for third-parties to create experiences for compatible Garmin wearables, bike computers and outdoor handhelds, lets users customise their Garmin device to reflect their unique personalities and needs. Garmin announced as the ‘Official Wearable Technology Partner’ of The Great Run Series

Global technology brand Garmin has officially partnered with the UK’s biggest mass participation running event series, Great Run.

The three-year partnership will cover all Great Run events across the country for both adults and children including the Simplyhealth Great Newham London Run, Europe’s biggest 10K - the Simplyhealth Great Manchester Run and the world’s biggest half marathon - the Simplyhealth Great North Run, with 57,000 participants.

The series has had more than four million people take part since it began in 1981, with events ranging from family activities to 5K, 10K, half marathons and marathons. The events offer competitors of all abilities the chance to take part and compete against the world’s best athletes – as well as raising millions of pounds for charity.

The partnership will commence with the Great Ireland Run on Sunday 9th April 2017, followed by events taking place in cities throughout the UK including Edinburgh, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol and London. The 2017 series will conclude with the Simplyhealth Great South Run on Sunday 22^nd October in Portsmouth,

As part of the deal, Garmin will also become the Official Wearable Technology Partner of the Great Junior Run Series which will raise awareness of Garmin’s fitness technology suitable for children, enabling the next generation to set goals, track their progress and lead an active lifestyle.

Garmin introduces the Forerunner 935 – a premium GPS running and triathlon watch

(NASDAQ: GRMN), today announced the Forerunner 935, a GPS running and triathlon watch with new performance monitoring tools and Elevate wrist-based heart rate technology. In addition to 24/7 heart rate monitoring¹, the Forerunner 935 includes new training features, allowing users to fine-tune exercise and recovery to be a better athlete. Easily paired with the new Running Dynamics Pod², Forerunner 935 users will now be able to see all six running dynamics without the need for a chest strap. At only 49 grams, every detail in its lightweight, comfortable design was chosen with the athlete in mind.

The Forerunner 935 is being announced in conjunction with a new print, digital and social campaign featuring 13 professional Garmin-sponsored elite runners and triathletes from across the world. The campaign showcases how the sophisticated dynamics offered by the Forerunner 935 help these athletes fine tune and elevate their training and be more competitive on race day.

New training features

With technology provided by First beat – make it easier for Forerunner 935 users to monitor performance and better prepare for a race or training cycle. Training status automatically analyses previous exercise and fitness levels to provide insight into how the athlete’s body is responding – letting them know if they are training productively, peaking or overreaching. Training load gives users an overview of their weekly activity and helps them determine if they are training in the right zone and whether their sessions are too easy or hard. Additionally, the new training effect metric tracks and reviews the aerobic and anaerobic benefit of a training session, letting athletes know how their training is improving their ability to push the limits. With these training features available at their fingertips, athletes can make adjustments and improvements to their training to become better, faster and more efficient come race day.

Running Dynamics Pod

The Forerunner 935 allows users to go further with their running data. The simple-to-use and unobtrusive new Running Dynamics Pod clips to the waistband allowing athletes to see all six running dynamics – including cadence, ground contact time, stride length and more – on a compatible device³ without the need for a chest strap. The Forerunner 935 also features advanced dynamics to help with cycling and swim training⁴. While on a bike (and when paired with Vector power meter), it will track dynamics including power zones, time seated and standing, platform centre offset and power phase. Elevate wrist-based heart rate

With Elevate wrist-based heart rate, Forerunner 935 users have around-the-clock heart rate monitoring without the need for an additional strap. With GPS and GLONASS coverage, athletes can better track their activities in challenging environments than with GPS alone. Additionally, the Forerunner 935 includes ABC (altimeter, barometer and compass) sensor capabilities. The built-in altimeter provides real-time elevation information, while the barometer can predict weather changes by showing short-term trends in air pressure. Athletes can easily transition between sports with the press of a button utilising the auto or manual multisport feature. The Garmin Dash Cam 45 and 55 offer high-quality eyewitness recording with automatic incident detection (G-sensor) to save footage on impact, while also adding GPS capabilities for detailed time and location data. Advanced driver alerts such as forward collision and lane departure warnings¹ are integrated in both new dash cam models to help prevent drivers from either driving too close to the vehicle ahead or drifting off-road. Now with the inclusion of voice control², drivers can start and stop audio recordings and more through voice commands to help keep their hands on the wheel and focused on the drive.
