While our VIRB video contest has come to an end, finalist Ken hasn’t stopped adventuring. Last month he explored the Canals of Amsterdam while stand up paddle boarding and rode the Munich wave in Germany. He made sure to make time in between to hit up the largest party in the world, Oktoberfest.
Ken’s European adventure took him to Munich first where he surfed on one of the most dangerous river waves in the world. He had heard about the Munich wave for years and always wanted to experience the thrill for himself. When he got into the river, large vertical walls surrounded him and only a couple feet deep down stream, cinderblocks awaited his fall. While it is extremely dangerous, Ken was up for the challenge. He jumped in the river to surf and didn’t fall down. When he got out he asked the locals if they were cool with him surfing in lederhosen and their response was “Yes. Of course-This is Oktoberfest!” He went back in, lederhosen and all and took to the wave.
