Bringing a splash of color to Kona

Screen shot 2012-10-19 at 12.55.24 PMWe all find our inspiration in different places. Last weekend, the Garmin fitness team was fortunate enough to find inspiration in one of the most beautiful places on earth: Kona, Hawaii. At the triathlon world championships, we once again had fun meeting some of the most energetic and driven athletes around, all gathered to test the limits of the human body in an event that includes a 2.4-mile swim, 112 miles on the bike, and a full marathon (26.2) miles as the capper.

But here's what always blows our minds. This is one of the happiest and friendliest crowds we come across all year. And it makes sense. You don't earn your way to Kona without a whole lot of hard work and sacrifice. So once you're in paradise, you might as well enjoy every moment!

We had a lot of fun cheering the competitors up Hero Hill (see video below), reading all of the #lovemygarmin tweets, outfitting folks in our popular, colorful accessory bands for Forerunner 910XTs and showcasing the new styles of Forerunner 210 and Forerunner 610. And we're bringing those new colors to the masses - and you can even save some money when you shop Garmin.com. Just enter code FALL20 at checkout to get 20% off the accessories you order, from the premium soft strap heart rate monitor to the new out-front mount which positions the Edge bike computer in a heads-up position for better viewability and increased safety. This discount is good through October in the US only for all Garmin accessories (excludes map updates), so get shopping! Maybe this is your first step toward Kona!
