We hear it all the time: Stopping in our store on Michigan Avenue isn't just about shopping for a product; it's about the helpful, knowledgeable staff and the total Garmin experience. So when we heard that hundreds of runners were going to be visiting the store later today to pick up their packets for this weekend's Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 10K & 5K events, we wanted to welcome them with open arms.
As soon as you step inside the door and cross the pink "Start" line, the fun has begun. We have activities and giveaways from 3-8 p.m., including a chance to transform yourself into elite marathoner Desi Davila!
We also have the world's largest Forerunner 10 on display, which cracks us up because one of the favorite features of the 10 is its super-small size and ultra-comfortable fit. It's been so popular, in fact, that our friends at Another Mother Runner are featuring it in their Hump Day Giveaway!
All in all, it's going to be a great day here at Garmin Chicago, and one of the biggest in the store's history. There will also be a local radio station broadcasting live from the store this afternoon, and we'll have our Garmin video crew chatting with folks about what motivates them to make every mile matter. If you're in the Windy City, stop by and say hi this afternoon and evening. We're at 663 N. Michigan Ave, at the corner of Michigan and Erie on the Magnificent Mile. If you're reading this from afar, you can still join the fun on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. And if you're running this weekend - at these races or anywhere else - good luck and have fun!
