Garmin Connect: Two billion reasons to celebrate an active lifestyle!

20 June 2012 @ 3:11 PM  / Garmin Connect / Sports / Fitness Blog /

2billionYou never cease to amaze us. Last summer, we celebrated a memorable milestone when Garmin Connect hit 1 billion miles after several years of collective sweat equity from around the world. Little did we know that you would hit the streets, trails, tracks and pools even harder in the year to come - quickly doubling that total at an exhilirating pace (or speed, depending on your preferences). Whether you've been running and riding for years or just recently started ramping up your workouts, every mile matters as this community keeps growing while you achieve your goals and set new records.

Josh and Jenny crop Bike1To kick off the celebration, we're going to be giving away a new Garmin fitness product to a lucky Connect user who pushed us over the 2-billion mark, so keep an eye on your inbox as we'll be identifying that person and reaching out in the next couple days. Then, to keep the party going, we have some Garmin gear lying around the office (shirts, posters, etc.) that we're going to have fun giving away this summer on Twitter (@GarminConnect) and Facebook. And we have a few other surprises and goodies that we'll tell you more about over the next few weeks....

Most of all, we want to thank you and applaud you for pushing your limits, stepping out of your comfort zone, trying new activities, accepting tough challenges and always setting new goals. We appreciate you turning to Garmin Connect to store, share and analyze all of your data within the community. Whether you're doing your favorite century ride, your fastest 5K run or your first triathlon, saving it on Connect creates an online scrapbook of every minute and every mile. All 2 billion of them. Congratulations!
