As someone who loves hitting the trails on foot and by bike, I’m excited to announce that Garmin has teamed up with Rails-to-Trails Conservancy (RTC) to offer comprehensive trail coverage and thousands of key waypoints, featuring some of the best outdoor trail experiences. Divided into six regions within the United States, this data download works easily with your compatible Garmin device. Whether you are looking for gorgeous rural landscapes or off-road options to safely navigate through urban centers, you’ll find it here. If you bike, run, hike, geocache – or any combination of these and other outdoor activities – this trail data is the perfect complement to all of your adventures.
The Rails-to-Trails Conservancy data includes hundreds of detailed trail routes – totaling more than 17,000 miles throughout the U.S. – as well as waypoints such as trailheads, parking locations, bridges, tunnels, surface change, restrooms, drinking fountains and more. Use the featured trail data in conjunction with Garmin topo map offerings such as TOPO 100K or TOPO 24K to enhance your outdoor journey even more.
The six regions consist of West, Southwest, North Central, South Central, Northeast, and Southeast, and you can find more details at www.garmin.com/onthetrailmaps. Preview the trail maps on RTC’s popular trail finder site, www.TrailLink.com, and get comprehensive trail information, including surface, allowable uses, descriptions, pictures and more.
