Chet's Corner: Customer Questions

5 December 2006 @ 4:53 PM  / Automotive Blog /

Featurechetscorner_1_14Today I am here to answer more of the questions you have been submitting.  I guess you could consider this as my Christmas gift to you.  What do you think?  Well here goes!

Q: I have never had a GPS, so I am a novice at this. I want a GPS for my motorcycle and auto, but I want to be about to modify the routes the way I want to go, it does not appear the Zumo 550 will allow that. Is this accurate? If not, what model would be best?

A: The zumo 550 ships with a complete copy of the MapSource City Navigator software so that you may install that on your home PC.  You can then create your own custom routes in MapSource and transfer them to your zumo 550.

Q: Chet, can you advise why there is no speaker/earphone jack?  I've be told that the bluetooth capability still has it's limitations, ie; insufficient volume.

A: On the zumo 550 there are no audio jacks on the unit itself.  Instead they are located on the mounting piece.  There is a microphone input as well as an audio output jack.  This will allow you to plug in an external speaker if you wish.

Like always, if you have any questions on up and coming products, please send them in the form of a comment.  I'm here for you, but you already knew that.
