Former Scotland under-21 international in hockey and squash, Iona Stephen turned professional this year, just four years after initially taking up golf as a hobby.

@Iona_Stephen’s rise from amateur to Pro in just 4 years is nothing short of inspirational.

The new partnership will see Iona become one of the faces of the Garmin Approach range, which features a selection of wearable and handheld GPS golf devices that provide golfers with precise distances, hazards and comprehensive guides to thousands of international courses.

Speaking about the new golf partnership, Iona Stephen said:

“Data and analytics are playing an increasingly important role in the sport of golf, and Garmin’s Approach range is really leading the way when it comes to aiding the performance of golfers at all levels”

“Now I have turned professional, it’s more important than ever for me to focus on precision, and there’s no brand I trust more than Garmin to deliver the insight I need to reach peak performance. I’m really excited about the partnership, and it’s great to be part of the Garmin team.”

Richard Daish, Senior Marketing Executive for Fitness at Garmin, said:

“Adoption of GPS in women’s golf is in its infancy. We are looking to accelerate the benefits that our technology provides golfers both on and off the course and will continue to promote an active lifestyle. Iona’s story is a great fit with our brand, she uses Garmin technology to fine-tune her game, assist with club selection and enhance her fitness.”

“Iona’s rise from hobbyist to professional within just four years is nothing short of inspirational, and we’re looking forward to working closely with her as she embarks on this exciting chapter of her golfing career.”
