This year marks the 75th anniversary of Piper Aircraft, and we were more than excited to help celebrate this past weekend at a customer fly-in at Piper's Vero Beach, Florida headquarters. We were among several hundred people who attended the event. Over 80 aircraft flew in to participate in a great day filled with tours, presentations and a first look at some of Piper's latest products. We're especially excited about Piper's new Archer and Seminole models, which will be equipped with the Garmin G1000 integrated flight deck! The Florida Institute of Technology College of Aeronautics is the launch customer for this program, taking delivery of eight aircraft in 2013.
“The G1000 is a highly capable flight deck perfectly suited for basic through advanced flight training, missions that the Seminole and Archer perform well,” said Carl Wolf, Garmin’s vice president of aviation sales and marketing. “We’re thrilled that as a result of this program, more new pilots will have the opportunity to learn to fly behind an all-glass flight deck.”
Congratulations to Piper on 75 years! And thank you for your partnership!
