With Jake and our video
team connecting with runners visiting our Garmin Chicago Store for the Susan G Komen
Race for the Cure events, we’re hearing hundreds of stories of why every mile
matters. And having a sporty GPS watch like the Forerunner 10 on hand to track
those miles is what these runners crave. Yesterday, Another Mother Runner
bloggers Dimity and Sarah launched a Humpday Giveaway featuring
the Forerunner 10. Here’s what Dimity had to say about her pink Forerunner 10: While I love the idea of a new gadget, I don’t always love how
complicated a supposedly simple gadget can make my routine. The Forerunner 10, thankfully, is the
exception to the gadgets that can deceive. Maybe the most simplest thing of all? The Forerunner 10
doesn’t look like a semi parked on your wrist. So you can wear it all day long:
in the shower, to bed, to work, dare I say out on date night?
Head over to their site before Sept. 26 and respond to this question for your chance to win a Forerunner 10: what is your dream pace and mileage? In just 24 hours, more than 1,100 responses were posted! Here are a few of our favs:
Nancy K: My goal is
to complete my first half marathon and get faster on 5Ks. I normally walk the
5Ks I have completed but am considering starting to run. A Garmin would help me
improve all of my goals.
Mia M: My dream pace would be 7:30 to 8:00 miles for at least a 5k. I’m an 11:30 miler who refuses to embrace my penguin status and still believes that maybe someday I’ll see those numbers on a Garmin of my own.
Melanie: I love me some pink and in a Garmin now too?!?!? Doesn’t get better than that!!!
I’d love a sub 8 min mile. Can’t seem to break into the 8′s no matter how hard I try. Grrrr!!! I’d also love to be able to run 10 miles at a crack, consistently and not bonk at mile 8.Louise C: Right now I am running about a 12/13 min mile. My dream would be to do a marathon and just finish with a respectable time! I’m still a new runner so I have lots to learn. A Garmin would be sooo helpful!
Katherine: As someone who has been on and off the road over the past 4 years due to injuries and babies I would love to get past doing 5Ks. I’m almost to my goal of a 5K under 30 min – My next goal is the 10K and I would like to do that under 60 min. My running motto – to see change you have to make changes…this Garmin sure would be a nice change!
Cindy: I have my first marathon in 39 days and would LOVE to run it in under 4 hours!! Thanks for hosting the give away. Would love to be sporting the new pink Garmin on my runs!
Laura H: I would live to run a 5k in under 30 minutes. Seeing 29:59 on that Garmin would make me squeal like a little girl!
Susan: Oh, back in the day I ran a 2:04 half, and I would just love to be in that ballpark again. Or even 2:10ish. It was effortless back then- I didn’t know how good I had it! And I would so love one of these Garmins!
Beccalou: Ahhhh….the dream…To run anything over double digits in the mileage department with under 9:00 splits, and to enjoy it! The new Garmin is GORGEOUS!!!!
Susan B: I’d *love* to run a marathon at consistent 8:30 miles, and someday, I’d like to qualify for Boston! The new Garmin looks *awesome*! Thanks for the chance to win one!
Kelly: My dream is a 4 hour marathon (running 2nd marathon in Oct), super dream is a 3:55! For years, the only technology I’ve relied on is my $10 watch…I’d love a Garmin to do the math for me!
