Team Garmin: Zabriskie, Hesjedal have two huge wins an ocean apart

WATSON_HESJEDAL_00002115-061 ZabriskieCeleb Before Tyler Farrar's impressive sprint victory Wednesday in Spain, Team Garmin was lacking that big grand-tour win. Today the argyle armada erased any doubt. In his third grand tour of the season, Ryder Hesjedal (left) flew to the mountaintop finish at the Vuelta, and five-time national time trial champion Dave Zabriskie followed up his recent U.S. championship (pictured here) by crushing the competition in the pivotal stage of the weeklong Tour of Missouri. For those keeping score at home, that's back-to-back Vuelta victories (with Tom Danielson sitting pretty in the overall standings) and a GC leader here in Missouri. And even though Zabriskie is fashionable in his iconic Captain America speedsuit, we think he looks pretty good in yellow as well.

For complete recaps and rider diaries, check out the Team Garmin minisite, and with two stages left in Missouri and a ton of action remaining in Spain, be sure to follow Jake's Twitter feed (@JakesJournal), go to our Flickr page and visit our YouTube channel for more Team Garmin videos.
