You're invited to Team Garmin's training camp

Vdvpodium If you haven't been watching Team Garmin's blog this week, you're missing out. Among the highlights are a party for the argyle ages, cheers for the 2009 route through France, VeloNews' cover story on Christian and a trick-or-treater's goal to be Trent Lowe.

We'll start with the big news: You're invited to join the cyclists, staff and sponsors of Team Garmin and the rest of the Slipstream squad Sat. Nov. 22 at their training camp. As if you needed more reasons to spend a Saturday night in beautiful Boulder, Colorado, you'll get to party with the team and witness the unveiling of the 2009 roster. Enjoy an exclusive preview of the Sundance Channel documentary on our breakout 2008 season. Celebrate the team time trial win at the Giro d’Italia, the 4th place finish in Paris-Roubaix, the overall win at the Tour of Missouri and the epic 5th place finish in our first Tour de France. And at the end of the evening, we will raffle off one complete 2008 team edition Felt F1 road bike. That alone is worth the $25 cost of admission. Click here for details and reserve your spot today!

The other headlines of the week came from France, where next summer's route was announced. Slipstream's blog has reactions from David Millar, Jonathan Vaughters, Ryder Hesjedal, Christian and Trent. And once you're done hearing about how this year's unique route favors Team Garmin, relive an amazing 2008 through VeloNews' story on Christian Vande Velde. His breakthrough year - from Brest to Beijing, St. Malo to St. Louis - is told in rich detail by Neal Rogers. And just for fun, you have to check out the Halloween plans that 8-year-old Ross has to dress up like Trent Lowe, our 5'6" king of the climb. Ross even has the discipline of a pro cyclist, saying "I won’t eat much candy because I’m going to be a climber."
