Jake's Journal: Oregon geocoin rumors confirmed

JakesjournalOregoncoinIt's time to put the rumors to rest. There's been some buzz out there about our new release, and I just want to clear up any confusion. A new geocoin is out there, and there aren't many of them. The coin commemorates the launch of the Oregon series of touchscreen outdoor handhelds. Preloaded with paperless geocaching and Wherigo, a new and popular location-based activity, the coins are already showing up in caches less than two weeks after the Oregon was announced.

WoodsCachingOregoncrop"We were on vacation near Deep Creek Lake in Maryland," wrote our mystery stasher. "After a short hike and about an hour swim in Swallow Falls, the girls found a geocache and left a new Oregon geocoin. They left a note of congratulations for the next cacher. These two nine-year-olds really loved the ease of use of the new Oregon 400t."

To learn more about the Oregon, visit the minisite and the demo site. To learn more about the Oregon geocoins, check our blog often and start looking in caches near you.
