Geocaching with the GPSMAP 76CSx

Testimonials007 Here's a story from a hard-core geocaching fan... who raves about our new GPSMAP 76CSx, which is loaded with a new and highly sensitive GPS receiver that acquires signals faster and lets users determine and track their location in challenging conditions such as heavy foliage or deep canyons.  It also has a microSD card slot for pre-loaded MapSource maps and charts.

“I am happy to report that reception with this unit is PHENOMENAL! It tracked in canyons, under trees, EVEN IN MY POCKET! It consistently led me and my team to position after position. We bushwacked for a shortcut at one point and the 76CSx took us directly back to our vehicle through a thick fir tree forest and salal 4 feet high. It was the middle of the night, in a terrible rain/wind storm. We received over 1.5 inches of rain during the contest and never saw a single speck of blue sky, we were in the woods most of the time and the 76CSx lost signal only once (we were in the basement of a parking garage in Victoria, BC)!

By the way, we came first in the contest and won $1000!!!  Thanks, Garmin!

Thanx for a great product.”

Comments:

I'd been thinking about buying this GPS to carry with us on Green River trip flowing between a mile high canyon in Utah (see http://www.suwa.org/WATE/labyrinth.html ). Has anybody used it there? Do you think would it work there?
